These courses are also livestreamed on our YouTube channel for those who cannot attend in-person. The benefit you receive for registering is that you can directly interact with the teachers in the classroom environment if you wish.

  • Does the IIT offer 5-time prayers and Jumuah prayers?

Yes, the Islamic Institute of Toronto offers the 5 daily prayers including Fajr, Zhur, Asr, Maghrib, and Esha. The times are made available on our website islam.ca. Jumuah prayers are also offered on Fridays at 1:30pm during Daylight Savings (March to November) and at 1pm outside of Daylight Savings (November to March).

  • Is the IIT a CRA registered charity organization?

Yes, absolutely. The Islamic Institute of Toronto is a non-profit charitable organization and is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). This means all of the donations that you make towards the IIT will be issued a tax-deductible tax receipt which you can use for when you submit your taxes.

  • What type of programs and events does the IIT offer to the community?

The Islamic Institute of Toronto (IIT) offers a wide range of educational, spiritual, recreational, and social programs for all age groups in the Greater Toronto Area. For structured learning, IIT provides courses in-person and online taught by highly qualified educators. It also hosts daily congregational prayers, Jumuah prayers on Fridays, and different programs throughout the calendar year such as taraweeh and eid prayers during Ramadan, weekend events during Islamic History Month, Summer Camp for children, Friday night family classes, evening madrassah for children, and more. Its gymnasium facilitates basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, and indoor hockey to name a few recreational activities. You can learn more about our programs and events via this link.

  • Can I rent the IIT facility for my private program or event?

The IIT facility can be rented for your private events and goes through an approval process. You can use the facility rental form to submit your request. Historically, community members have hosted their nikaah ceremonies, educational webinars, business bazaars, and other events at the IIT.

  • Does the IIT provide any family, marital, or personal counselling?

Some of our Imams do offer spiritual counselling services independently. If you need any counselling services, you can reach out to them directly or meet them in-person to book a time with them.
