Program details

Stay active. stay connected.

Between work, family, and everything else, exercise is easy to skip. Our community sports sessions give you a regular time to play, a group to play with, and a space that fits your values. Join one session or several.

  • Multiple sessions throughout the week across different sports

Choose from badminton, basketball, volleyball, and indoor soccer, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday. Show up, play, and go home better than you came.

  • Play in a Space That Fits You

At the IIT we respect the gender boundaries established through the Deen. We maintain separate sessions for brothers and for sisters. We also have a large partition that can segregate our gymnasium into separate components to help separate genders where applicable.

  • Come for the activity. Stay for the bonds

Players come back for the people as much as the sport. Make friends, find workout partners, and become part of the IIT community.

  • Every Session Has a Host

Each session has a named organizer who answers your questions and helps you get started. Our volunteers keep the program running.

  • Who is allowed to play? Are there any restrictions?

Our sessions are for adults. Basketball is 18 and over. Sessions are separate for brothers and sisters, except where listed.

  • Do I need to be good at the sport to play?

Not at all. Players range from beginners to experienced. Tell the organizer and they will help you find a good fit.

  • What should I bring when I come to play?

Depending on the activity you are participating in, you should dress accordingly. Make sure you wear good shoes for an indoor court, that you have sport clothes on, and that you also respect the Islamic dress etiquette. Dress code applies to both brothers and sisters. Do also to remember to bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated. The IIT has water fountains at which you can refill your bottle.

  • Will there be a space to pray?

Absolutely. While the IIT doesn’t look like a traditional masjid, we offer all 5 time prayers plus Jumuah throughout the week. When the time for prayer comes, all activities are paused and everyone will pray in the gymnasium.

  • What is the Code of Conduct and Waiver?

It is our community standard for respectful play. If you already play with us, complete it once. It is not a registration form.
