Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ Said

"Charity is obligatory everyday on every joint of a human being. If one helps a person in matters concerning his riding animal by helping him to ride it or by lifting his luggage on to it, all this will be regarded charity. A good word, and every step one takes to offer the compulsory Congregational prayer, is regarded as charity; and guiding somebody on the road is regarded as charity."

Sahih Al-Bukhari

  • I started to volunteer with the IIT from the time I was 15 years old and have been attending its programs with my family since. I attribute a significant amount of my personal development as a Muslim to what I have learned and witnessed from the IIT scholars and volunteers. Alhamdulillah!

  • For over 20 years, volunteering at the Islamic Institute of Toronto has been one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences of my life. I’ve had the opportunity to serve in many different capacities, and I’m grateful for the people I’ve met, the experiences I’ve shared, and the chance to contribute to such a meaningful community. It has truly been a privilege to serve, and I look forward to continuing to give back for many years to come.
